Lauryn Hill Going To Prison

Lauryn Hill is facing up to three years in prison for tax evasion.  Lauryn is a Grammy Award winning artist who the federal government claims did not pay taxes on 1.5million dollars between 2005 - 2007.  Hill was originally charged June 2012 and returns to court for sentencing on November 27th.  Lauryn is currently out on $150,000 unsecured bond.  

The singer responded to the charges in a post on her Tumblr page, saying she hadn’t paid taxes since she withdrew from society in an effort to guarantee the safety of herself and her family. She went on to describe how she rejected pop culture’s “climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism.”

Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual. I did not deliberately abandon my fans, nor did I deliberately abandon any responsibilities, but I did however put my safety, health and freedom and the freedom, safety and health of my family first over all other material concerns! I also embraced my right to resist a system intentionally opposing my right to whole and integral survival.

 According to Ms. Hill's lawyer Nathan Hochman his client plans to pay $818,000.00 for 2005; $222,000.00 for 2006; and $761,000.00 for 2007.

Evelyn Lozado Files for Divorce: 41 Days of Marriage

After 41 days of wedded bliss Evelyn Lozado files for divorce from Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson.  After a world wind weekend that included domestic violence, arrest, money paid for bond and a lawyer and Chad being fired from the NFL Miami Dolphins there's more.  Evelyn released a statement early Tuesday, which sounds like some of her speeches on Basket Ball Wives: 

 "I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well."

 Sometime after this statement was released Evelyn decided to end her 41 day marriage to Chad and filed for divorce.  After Evelyn filed for divorce Chad released a statement:

"I am going to let the legal process run its course. I wish Evelyn nothing but the best, I have no negative words to say about her, the only thing I can say is I love her very much," said Johnson, who was dumped by the Miami Dolphins a day after the arrest.

"I will continue to be positive and stay training hard for another opportunity in the NFL. I appreciate all my fans and supporters and if I have disappointed you in any way, you have my sincerest apologies. Once again I will continue to stay positive and appreciate all the support during this tough period in my life."

Evelyn and Chad were also featured in the first episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Miami Dolphins."  A second episode has aired showing the Dolphins releasing Chad from the team.

Evelyn and Chad had a show that was supposed to air on VH1 called "Ev & Ocho" VH1 decided not to air this reality show.  I wonder what is next for this odd couple.  Stay tuned I'm sure there's more to come.

MIAMI DOLPHINS RELEASE CHAD "OCHO CINCO" JOHNSON

Within a couple of hours of being released from jail for allegedly headbutting his wife Evelyn Lozado Chad Johnson was released from the Miami Dolphins.  Ocho Cinco had to battle for a position on the Dolphins after a not so productive season with the New England Patriots.  Ocho Cinco's lawyer will only comment that at this time an order for Chad not to contact Evelyn is in effect.  If convicted of his charges Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson could face up to 1 year in jail and up to $1000 in fines.  It's been a little over a month since Chad and Evelyn got married and they have already had bouts with Domestic Violence, Adultery, and a Loss of Income.  I don't think this marriage will last.

Keshia Chante to Play Aaliyah in Biopic

There are talks of making a movie about the life of Aaliyah Haughton.  There are rumors about whether or not her family is on board with a biopic being made about the deceased singer.  What we do know as a matter of facts are that the Haughton Family are not in complete control of Aaliyah's Estate and a movie about her life can be made with or without her families approval.  I have even heard rumors about a new Aaliyah album being in the works.

 According to Aaliyah's brother regarding a biopic of her life Rashad states, "No female I have seen can play my sister."  The people who are in talks to make this film about Aaliyah are determined to use New Singer Keshia Chante to play Aaliyah.

Here are some words on the situation from Keshia Chante:

And from my understanding, there are people trying to create a movie and Aaliyah’s family are still mourning her loss and aren’t ready to share her story and create a film. So there’s a bit of back and forth thing with her family and with creative people. And I know that they would bless a movie being created, they’re just not 100 percent comfortable and unfortunately from my understanding they don’t have complete control of her estate. So a movie could technically be made without them green lighting it and I kind of think that’s unfortunate. So I want her family to be on board and to be happy with it. It’s still kind of lingering in the air.”

“And for me, I’ve always wanted to kind of talk about it, it’s just really, it’s uncomfortable. I don’t want to disrespect her family. I know that they’re, they don’t like it. They don’t like when they get calls from people, like, ‘Oh, I heard this about your daughter. I heard this.’ Because it’s painful for them. So I know that the lawyer and even them and even my team who have kind of like you know, it’s happy, it’s better for everyone to not really speak on it and I’m just feel like you know, I’m not supposed to speak on it, but I know in this situation, yeah, it’ kind of, it’s a long time coming and I know people really want to know what’s going on. So yeah, I definitely think this was the perfect time to tell you.”

I must admit that there is an uncanny resemblance between Aaliyah and Keshia.... I am/was a big fan of Aaliyah and as a fan I would love to see a biopic of her life.  As a person who has loss a family member, I can understand not being ready to see my loved one's life all over the TV, radio and Internet again.

Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson Arrested for Domestic Violence

I am a little behind on the reality TV celebrities.  I did not know that Chad Ocho Cinco and Evelyn Lozado got married last month.  But today's news has to do with last nights arrest of Ocho Cinco.  Apparently Evelyn found a receipt for condoms in the center of the couples Maserati.  When Evelyn confronted Chad about the receipt he allegedly a verbal argument ensued and Chad head butted Evelyn.  When police arrived Lozado had lacerations on her forehead.  According to TMZ Ocho Cinco told the police he butted heads with Evelyn on accident.

The latest buzz about this story is that Chad Johnson Chris Brown'd Evelyn Lozado.....LMFAO!!!!!!

Dwight Howard Traded to the L.A. Lakers

Howard has been traded to the L.A. Lakers in a 4 Team Trade with other Headline Names.  Here's a breakdown of the Trade.  The L.A. Lakers get Dwight Howard. The Denver Nuggets get Andre Iguodala.  The Philadelphia 76er's get Andrew Bynum & Jason Richardson.  The Orlando Magic get Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless and a protected first round pick from each of the other three teams.  

This means that the Lakers starting line up will be Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace,  Paul Gasol and Dwight Howard.  This is leading to talks of who will be the best team in the Western Conference the Lakers or the Thunder!!!!!!!!! YOU DECIDE........
